We were having our breakfast and our usual anything under the sun (or under our roof) conversations when I just casually opened up to him my take on the new tax rules on online sellers. My husband is a business owner, so between him and me, he is more experienced and more knowledgeable on this topic. So he gave me a quick lesson on how our economy works and how these new tax laws are helping the country. One of the many things that always amazes me with my husband is that he always sees the best not only in our country but also in our government even if everybody is not trusting our system. We always see the government as some evil monster just trying to get our money (which is still I believe is true don't get me wrong on that). But we also always fail to see that our country will never have a chance to get anywhere if we don't take simple steps like paying taxes. My biggest take with
my husband's little lecture was we will never go big if we stay under the radar. Well, I'm also a start-up online seller with no business permit. Now I'm thinking of getting a permit, and maybe getting a permit will teach me discipline and focus on running it (two things I admittingly don't have when opening Rockbar).
So here's the video from our breakfast chat, maybe it will educate you too, or if not, at least helps you seething from a different point of view.
